DoubleJump went behind the scenes for the making of Ed Sheeran’s Pokémon music video, Celestial.

The Pokémon Company International tasked DoubleJump to produce a behind the scenes video asset to help celebrate the release of Ed Sheeran's song Celestial. Directly inspired by his love for all things Pokémon, both the track and music video were heavily framed around the world of Pokémon, and DoubleJump were on hand to capture the moments behind the magic.
A unique behind-the-scenes look at the making of Ed Sheeran's Pokémon music video - Celestial. Our dedicated three-person DoubleJump crew expertly captures Ed Sheeran's genuine affection for Pokémon, the video and its creation process.


The brief focused on giving fans a behind the scenes view of Ed on set, as well as the craft behind the creation of the music video. The three person crew of Cam, Stu, Rich shadowed the entire production, grabbing candid moments while doing their best to not hamper the production itself. Meantime, photographer Joe focused on stills of Ed, the crew and locations.
The shoot took place across two locations: A large country house outside of the M25, and a number of specific locations in Richmond. The entire shoot was kept top secret due to Ed's phenomenal fame. If it became known that he was in Richmond, there was a serious concern that crowds would descend that could disrupt production.
Working on a production of this scale was full on but ultimately a fantastic experience for the whole DoubleJump team. Truly a unique project combining one of the most beloved singer songwriters of the last 20 years with a game equally adored. What a fantastic match, and a great BTS video.
